Day 8: Fatigue Hits—Rest Is Also Part of the Plan

Day 8 of my 90-day challenge. Today, the exhaustion finally caught up with me. After days of sleeping only five hours and pushing through both my job and my startup planning, my brain just stopped working. I somehow made it through my workday, but tonight—I’m not fighting it. No research. No scriptwriting. Just rest. Because building something meaningful takes energy. And rest is not weakness. It’s fuel. So today, I’m choosing sleep. Tomorrow, I rise again.

One Week In: Building a Global Money Channel on 5 Hours of Sleep

Day 7 Today marks one full week since I began my startup journey. Every day this week, I came home past 9 p.m. after a 10-hour shift at the salon. And yet, I’ve been working on my business until 1 a.m.— That’s just 5 hours of sleep each night. Yes, I’m exhausted. But I also know… This is the crucial phase—the one I must push through. Finalizing My Business Idea After seven intense days of research, planning, and reflection, I’ve locked in my idea: A YouTube channel that shares money-related trivia for beginners, aimed at a global audience. Let me break that down. Why This Niche? Money is always relevant. It’s one of the most  evergreen, in-demand topics —and it will stay that way. I chose  trivia-style content  because: I’m not a financial expert. But I  can  create videos that make people say, “Oh! I didn’t know that.” The goal isn’t to teach deep strategies—it’s to  spark curiosity . My target audience is people who want to learn about money, but don’t ev...

Beyond 0→1 and 1→100: How I’m Creating a “1→Next” Money Channel on YouTube

The "money" niche on YouTube is already full of pros. From investing and startups to business strategy and financial mindset, each subcategory is deeply covered by professionals and influencers. So why would I choose this saturated space? Because I'm not aiming to compete by going deeper. I'm aiming to approach it differently. The Problem with Niche Specialization Specializing in one subcategory often requires years of experience or credentials. But I’m just a regular person—not a financial expert or investor. Trying to go toe-to-toe with professionals in a narrow field is unrealistic. So instead, I chose  money trivia —broad, accessible, and beginner-friendly. It’s not about going deep. It’s about creating  entry points  for those who don’t know where to start. Business Models: 0→1 vs. 1→100 In business, ideas are often categorized into two paths: 0→1:  Creating something entirely new. 1→100:  Scaling something that already exists. Only a few people can truly p...

Why I Chose “Money Trivia” as My YouTube Niche

Hello, world. I’ve finally decided on a niche for my YouTube channel:  money . But “money” is a vast and crowded category. There’s investing, entrepreneurship, business, saving techniques, financial mindset—and each subgenre has seasoned professionals already dominating it. So where does that leave someone like me? Here’s the conclusion I’ve reached: I’ll focus on  money trivia —small, fun, accessible facts and insights about money that spark curiosity.  Why Not Go Deep? Because I don’t need to. There’s no point in pretending to be an expert in a niche where certified professionals already rule. But what I  can  offer is  entry points —short, engaging content that grabs attention and starts a journey. If viewers want to dive deeper, there are already hundreds of channels doing just that. I’ll be the first stop, the spark—not the textbook.  Who Am I Making This For? I’m targeting beginners. People who  want to learn about money  but don’t even...

Best YouTube Niches for Monetization: Why I Chose the “Money” Niche

Hello, world. Today marks the start of detailed planning for my YouTube business. I've decided on my direction—now it’s time to build. But once again, work was hectic. In Japan’s beauty industry,  June is a peak season , and as a full-time hairstylist, I’ve been swamped. My day job pays the bills. It’s not something I can neglect. Still, the lack of time for my startup efforts has been frustrating. I just have to push through. No excuses—just grit and discipline. ・ Researching the Right Niche With limited time, I turned to AI for help. I asked ChatGPT to analyze YouTube niches that are both profitable and popular. AI is great for quick, broad overviews. Then I pick out the best leads and dive deep on my own. That way, I can use my energy where it matters most. Here’s what the AI told me: ・ High CPM (Cost Per Mille) Niches: Business Finance Education Explainer content Tech and gadgets How-to/tutorials These are the types of videos that earn more ad revenue per view. ・  Popular...
